Tenant Manual

Solicitor or Stranger
For the safety and protection of CENTER WEST, their employees, and visitors to the Building, Tenants are asked to call Building Management immediately if a solicitor, unfamiliar visitor, or other suspicious person is observed in the Building. Building Management will dispatch security personnel to investigate. During non-business hours, these calls will be forwarded directly to the security console.

The following information is not intended to alarm Tenants or others in the Building, rather to educate them to exercise simple caution, and to be aware of potential security hazards. There are several simple measures that should be employed by all personnel to reduce the risk of theft, robbery, and possible personal injury. If a stranger enters the suite and is not intercepted by a receptionist, he may roam the suite in search of an easy opportunity. If he is intercepted by a member of the staff, he may pretend to have an appointment, make a delivery, or inquire as to the availability of another member of the staff. One common trick used by a potential thief is to wait until the receptionist or other individual assisting him leaves the area. This is his opportunity to help himself to any items that may be readily accessible, such as handbags, briefcases, wallets, jewelry, or any expensive items that have been left on a desk or elsewhere in the open. To prevent the loss of property or possessions, private office doors should be closed and locked, if possible, when the occupant is away from his/her office for any length of time.
